Lilo and Stitch Guest Book and Card Box for Niece's 1st Birthday Party

Aloha and Welcome!! Wow last week was a crazy week for me... had to keep away from blogland, due to my grand niece's 1st birthday party. My niece had asked me to make a bunch of goodies for her daughters party, and I was of course, happy to do so. Here are some of the projects I made. I will share the rest throughout this week.

The sign-in Guest Book - her theme was "Lilo n' Stitch"... I found a Lilo n' Stitch image online, and with a little help from Photoshop Elements, was able to remove and add things. Both front and back covers were laminated.

Here are the inside pages. I created on Word, simply by using the columns feature. For the Lilo image on the bottom right, after printing the wordings and lines (or you could print it before, wither way works), I printed Lilo at the bottom in a lighter opacity, probably around 33%.

I used my Bind-It-All to bind the book together. The coils that I used were Cinch coils, which I was delighted to find out that they worked with the BIA, especially because they were cheaper than the BIA coils. I then added random ribbons to the coil. I also added the ribbons because I made a mistake with punching the holes, and this ribbon technique covered up my mistake. "o)

I also created the Card Box... I covered a large Ziploc box (the one from Sam's Club that holds 4 boxes of Gallon size Ziploc boxes). I covered it with gift wrapping paper, inside out. All cuts on the box was cut on my Cricut using SCAL. I had a Lilo image converted to an SVG format. The font that I used was Cheri. I was very happy with how Lilo turned out. I also did a Stitch, but the photo of that little fella is on another camera, which I cannot currently find. Ugh!! After pasting them all together, I used Stickles to add some glittery look.

These hibiscus flowers were found online as well, and converted to an SVG file. Along with the fern plant. I sponged the edges of each flower and plant to give them some depth.

Here is a look at the side of the box.....

It was such an awesome opportunity for me to help with my niece's daughter's 1st birthday. I was so blessed and honored that she allowed me to create for her. Here is the little princess....

Thanks for checking out these projects. I will post more throughout this week. I pray that you and your family have a blessed week in the Lord!!

Much Hugs n' Aloha,

Jen

Franken-Baskets: Tutorial and Freebie Design Studio Cuts

Aloha and Welcome!! Sorry I haven't posted in a the last couple of days... I have been working on projects for my grand niece's birthday party, which is happening this Saturday! It is finally right around the corner, and we are getting down to the last final things that needs to be done. What makes it crazier is that we have a very busy week, not only with the birthday planning, but other things that are happen around us as well.

This past weekend, I came across an old blog post of mines back in 2008, of our "Frankenstein Family". I thought that they'd really be cute if they were made into baskets. So I just put my Basic Basket design (George cart), together with the Franken Pieces and whala!!! For these cuts, I have added a nose piece. On the previous cut, you would have to use a punch for his nose, but this time, you can cut the nose piece together with the other pieces. I've also created 2 different cuts for you to use, either a cut for 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock, or 12x12 cardstock!! I hope you like whichever one you decide to go with. Go for both, as they both have their great reasons as to why you'd like to use either or.

I've written up a little tutorial on how to put this cut together... so let's begin:

Here are the pieces that will cut out on this cut (the ribbon piece is for a female Franken-Basket if you want to make one):
Here are all the pieces. Please note, I also cut a 1" x 11" strip of cardstock. This is for the handle of the basket. You will need to cut this on our own (incase you are wondering why it didn't cut on your Cricut ;O} )

This is the side of the basket. Use Scor tool to score on score marks.

This is the inner cut that fits between the side cuts shown above. Score on score marks.

Flip this piece over and apply double stick tape as shown below....

Take both pieces, and adhere together to form the basket.

Here is the basket portion of the cut, completed... (this is just assembling the 2 pieces together).

Take the purple "bracket" cut and cut out with scissors your hair piece (this part of the project must be free hand, and was not cut on the cricut.... be creative, make your own hair style!!!

The circle piece that was cut in the same color of it's face, you will need to cut in half, as these will become it's eyelids.

I sponged the edged of each piece (used Chocolate Chip - SU!)

Here are all the pieces to make Franken's face, sponged and ready to assemble...

His face put together, I used a black sharpie to add stitch marks in various locations of his face.

Now to attach the face to the basket. Apply double stick tape to the outer panel o the basket.

Apply the face, and the other blank piece to the other side of the basket.

Then attached the handle. I attached the handle by stapling it on. Also, I found that it is easier to staple it on BEFORE I adhere the face and back panels on.
I also made a female version... which I have included her ribbon within the cut file as well.

Thanks for peeking!! For those of you that would like to download and use this cut file, you will need the following in order to cut this:

  • Cricut Machine
  • George Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge
  • Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge

Butterfly Goodie Bag - Made with 2 Cricut Envelope Cuts

Welcome!! Happy Aloha Friday! I hope your week went well, and praying that your weekend is a blessed one. My gf Luana celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago. This is the favor bag I created to hold her present.

I've seen this done several times with 2 pieces of die cut envelopes, and thought that I'd like to try it with a Cricut envelope cut. I cut out 2 envelopes from the Sentimentals Cricut cartridge. I cut the bottoms of the envelopes off, 1 inch from the score line. I then cut a 1" strip of the same colored cardstock to hold the envelope together, creating a favor type box. (See pic above). The Butterfly border is from the MS All Occasions cartridge. The frill designs are from Sentimentals cartridge. I sponged the edges with ink to add depth. That's pretty much it!! I am just loving my Cricut, and the fun things it can do!!!

Thanks for peeking in!! Have a blessed weekend!!!

I am entering this project to the following challenges:

Much Aloha,
Jen

New Nails, New Blings with a little help from the Imaginisce's iRock Tool

Aloha and Welcome back!! Yesterday, it was time for me to get my nails done again, by my favorite nail designer, Lena. I chose my color, this time went with a light pink color. Last time I got my nails done I had Lena color the entire nail. This time, I've decided to go with just the tips. Plus they dry quicker, and I think they make my hands look a lot prettier. Anyways, while Lena is prepping my nails, I had an opportunity to look around her table to see what type of design I wanted to go with. I see this beautiful design with black lines, and 2 pink blings - gorjuss!! I mentioned to Lena how much I just love blings on my nails, and that the last time I had my nails done, I went home and added a bling to each nail, using my iRock tool. Ha Ha! Yes!! No kidding!! Lena then says, "Can I do something other than the lines?".... I have been going to this woman for the last 8 years or so, so I totally trust her abilities in designing my nails. So I said, "Sure, go ahead."

When she was done with my nails, I was totally pleased!! It turned out sooooo cute, with the 3 blings on each finger that she put on there for me, and all the polka dots. Super Cute, RIGHT?!?!??!

Well, I get home, and I am thinking to myself - my nails could handle having "just 1 more" bling... heh heh heh.... so I bust out my iRock tool by Imaginisce, (which I picked up both Rocks n' Tool from my girlfriend Man Le, of Pineapple Cove). I then selected a color, and decided to go with purple, since the last time I went with blue. Oh My WORD!!!! Hee heee.... talk about being a giddy lil' girl!! I just love it!!! Above is the "Before" photo without the purple bling, and here is the "after" photo with the purple bling added. I used the iRock tool because the adhesive behind each bling, when melted is super strong, and I did not want to add another coat of clear to my nails. This way, the bling adheres with no problem of being removed. I LOVE IT!!!!! Oh, I must mention, when heating, I can feel a little bit of heat going through my nails. My nails have a thick gel coating on them, so I do NOT recommend you applying these to your natural nails, or that might be painful!!!

Ok before you go, I have a project to actually share with you! Yes... you didn't think I'd let ya go without sharing a project, did ya?? LOL... it is a CASED project, CASED from Robin of "My Pink Stamper". I was in the mood in creating a wedding card, and saw how easy her card was, and went with it! Thanks Robin... She's the best, isn't she??? I can't find the exact blog post that she posted this project, but she has a video which you can find here, this is where I saw it at.

Thanks again for popping in!! Have a blessed day!!

Aloha,
Jen

Cute Favor Bag and Create a Critter Cartridge: Using the Cricut and Eclips Together

Welcome! Hope your week is going pretty well. Happy Hump Day!! Today I am sharing with you projects created with both the Cricut and the Eclips machines. About a month ago, I met up with some friends I used to work with. I haven't seen these ladies in a while, so I wanted to give them a little something handmade. I went through the Albums, Bags and Boxes Eclips cart, and found this cute bag. Then I cut out some cute doggies from the Create a Critter Cricut cart, and adhered them to the front of each bag. To give you an idea of how big the bag is, it fits a Pop-Tart, which I've placed in each one.

Aren't these doggies just adorable??? I loved piecing them together, and I just love this Create a Critter Cricut cart. There are a lot more critters on that cart to cut out, so hopefully I will get a chance to do more of that in the near future!!! I am glad that I was able to utilize both the Cricut and Eclips machine. I want to make good use of these, and make the most of them. I am entering these projects into Robin's My Pink Stamper's Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge. The challenge is to create a goodie bag for a holiday... there isn't a "Friendship Day" holiday, but thought I'd try and enter these into the challenge and give it a chance anyways. Hope it is considered!!!

Well that's all for now. I pray that the remainder of your week is a blessed one.

Much Hugs n' Aloha,
Jen

Happy 50th Anniversary Mom n' Dad!! - A Freebie Cut File: Tri-Shutter Card

Aloha and Welcome!! My mom n' dad celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past Saturday. They celebrated by taking a trip to Las Vegas and spending some fun time together. I decided that a Tri-Shutter card would be a beautiful card to create for them on this special occasion. I really didn't know what to create, so I did a Google search and found Christa's card here. I CASED Christa's card. Thanks for the idea, Christa!!

I did the Tri-Shutter card on my Cricut Design Studio. With score marks and cuts. If you would like to download it, you can do so at the bottom of this post. You will need a Cricut Expression, Design Studio, and the George cartridge in order for you to cut this. I did have all the elements to make this card, however, once again, I was unable to save to my drive. Therefore, this is the basic Tri-Shutter card. All you need is a 12x12 cardstock of your choice, and you will easily have all cuts n' score marks done for you.

The white panels were embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The edges were cut with Elegant Cake cartridge. The frill is from Cindy Loo. The Circle Scallop is from Cupcake Wrappers, Hearts and Sentiment are from Sentimental cartridge. The number 50 is from Lyrical Letters cartridge. Flowers from All Natural Accents.

I really enjoyed making this card!! I know that this design has been out for a while, but takes me awhile to actually jump on that band wagon. I look forward in making more of these and tweaking my cut file. Thanks for popping in!! Have a blessed week in the Lord!!!
