Goodbye For Now....

From here on, I won't be posting as much to my blog anymore. The Lord has opened doors for me, that I couldn't possibly image happening, and I have to let some things go. One them being this blog. I will however continue to post my projects to my Facebook account. So if you like, you can connect with me on Facebook Here.

One of the doors that the Lord has opened is of a local florist will be selling my card creations, and I don't think I will be able to continue to up keep this blog. So, come and find me on Facebook, and let's connect there. I will keep this blog up and running, so that readers can check out my past creations, and of course links to the many tutorials shared.

I will also be focusing more on doing Worship with the new Christian Band that we started. Creating project for my church's store and for my sister's store in California. Of course with God and my Family in priority!! Please continue to keep me in prayer, for without Him, none of this would be possible!! Pray that I am able to share HIS LOVE through my art, my singing and my nourishment upon my family and friends!! There is nothing more fulfilling for me to do, which is to be obedient to HIS Word, and do what His will is. Thank U for coming along with me, and sharing in this journey with me.... looks like I've gotta fasten my seat belt and see where else the Lord is gonna take me!! See ya on Facebook!!!

Much Love n' Blessings, Jen

Father's Day Red Chevy

I found another freebie car image online to use on another Father's Day card that I created. I colored it up with my Copic Sketch markers, colored in the sky and the ground, and layered it on SU! Real Red cardstock. I also used the sentiment from and old Stampin' Up! set, I can't remember which one, but I believe it is already retired, sorry!! I then used the tag punch to punch out the sentiment, and layered on Real Red cardstock, then cut around it to make it have the same shape as the tag, and to have it layered. Ribbon is Black Organdy. I used a 1/8" punch to punch the hole for the ribbon to go through. Black cardstock is from Walmart, and DSP is Die Cuts with a view. This week's Monday Theme Challenge is "Father's Day/Masculine" so don't forget to submit your work to enter into winning a prize!!! This is a sample for this week's theme!!

Family Tidbit: This pass Monday marked the 1st day of Summer Break for my boys. Our goal is to get this house "tidy" before we start having fun for the Summer. We cleaned out the garage on Monday, and yesterday, my oldest tended to his laundry. My mom spent the day with us yesterday, and bought Cy his 1st "real" bike. He is so happy to have it, and can't wait to ride it every chance that he gets. The oldest now wants a bike as well... we'll have to talk to dad about that. Yesterday, my hubby n' I found out that we recently lost a good friend of his. They were close friends since his childhood years, and was really like a sister to him. It saddens us that she has passed so suddenly, and we were in shock to hear the news. She leaves behind a 5-yr old daughter, and her widowed mother. Please pray that the Lord calms the hearts of her loved ones left behind. And I pray that you are able to take the time to spend with family and friends who are still here. Life is so precious and unpredictable! U can be here 1 minute, and gone the very next!! Know that Jesus Loves U, and that we were created to live an eternal life... Eternal Life in Heaven, or Eternal Life in Hell.... either way, you will live an eternal life somewhere!!! If you do not know WHERE that somewhere is, I encourage you to call out to Jesus, and ask Him to help you to understand and He will show you the way!!!!!

hugs....Jen

The truck image I used on my card was a freebie digital image, drawn and is a freebie given out by Paula of "Handmade by Paula". Thank You, Paula for this beautiful drawing!!! I love it!! Colored with my Copic Sketch markers, and kept it real simple.

Hope you all have some time to play along with us....

Birthday Gift Card

Recently, I have been using more and more digital images. I just love the simplicity of it all. I still love my rubber stamps but I guess with the option to have the image right then and there, rather than having to go anywhere, or wait for an order to arrive, is very satisfying. I will never give up using rubber stamps, but if given the option to purchase the image digital, I would go that route first.

For this card, I used an image from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon's Studio. I colored it with my copics, and because it was a last minute card, I didn't have much time for shading. I also made this card a gift card holder, so instead of cutting an 8-1/2" x 11" card in half (5-1/2"), I cut it half way through (til' 4-1/4" way), then maybe about 2" lower, I cut the rest of the card off. I then scored at 5-1/2" and had that little fold in the card to hold my gift card. At both ends of the fold though, I cut in a diagonal so that the card could close with ease. I then embossed the upper section of the card, using Cuttlebug's Happy Birthday embossing folder. I cut the fancy panel behind the image using my cricut machine, from the "Lacy Labels" cartridge. The sentiment is also a print out, from Stampin' Up!'s digital images. I punched out using my 1-1/4" circle punch, and then the 1-3/4 scallop punch, both from Stampin' Up!. The ribbon and buttons were added for embellishing. I forgot to mention that the cardstock I used is Stampin' Up!'s Rich Razzleberry. I am soooo in love with this rich deep color!! Love to work it with.

On the inside of the card, the part where I made the flap, I cut out a little border on my cricut, using the Elegant Cake cartridge. I cut a smaller panel of white cardstock (4" x 5-1/4") and adhered it to the inner part of the card, and then slipped in the gift card from my church's Chapel Store.

So school officially ended yesterday, June 10th. I'm going to be quite busy trying to keep the kids busy, and hopefully they can help me straighten up the house. Which means I probably won't be able to post as much. But I will try my best to pre-post my projects, and get the post up before the kids get up for their day. Either way, please keep me in prayer!!

Have a blessed weekend!!

Aloha,
Jen
