Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #42 - Spring

Hey all... I finally got to squeeze in some time to color an image and create a card. My kids are on Spring Break, so I have been trying to keep them occupied daily with something new to do. Monday we couldn't do anything. I was stuck to my bed due to my cold. Went to the doctor's office in the morning, and I asked my oldest to tidy up the house so that when I got home, I wouldn't have to worry about looking at what I have to get done. To my delight, I was blessed with a tidy living room, neat dining table and counter top. Praise The Lord for my son's obedience. I was able to rest at least for 4 hours and take a nap to regain my energy. On Tuesday I took them to Chuck E. Cheese, again my oldest pulled through and took my little one around the facility, playing games and earning tickets. Wednesday, we spent most of the day at my mom's. My sister Nash is in town and is heading back home today. So I thought it would be nice that me n' the boys go to spend some quality time with her before she leaves.

Welcome to Thursday!! Looks like the week is going by pretty quickly, and unfortunately we didn't really get to do much, but Summer Break is just around the corner, so we will have more time then. For my project today, I wanted to color up one of my Kenny K's digital image, and try out Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #42, which their theme is "Spring Time". I love the Kenny K's digital images, especially of these pretty girlz that he's drawn. I just love coloring them. I can't wait to work on more.

Detail: Flowers - All Natural Accents, Dew Drops, Image: Kenny K's Downloads, Swirl Die Cut - eClips Machine: All Occasions, Heart Punch: Stampin' Up!, DSP: DCWV and 3 Bugs

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Well, I hope you will join us for tomorrow's Friday Die Cut Challenge. It is fun to be able to incorporate our die cuts within our projects.

Have a blessed day!
Aloha,

Jen

Introducing Our Design Team for Pieces of Ali n' Me Challenges: May thru July 2011

Hi Gang!! We have finally narrowed down the search of our lil' Design Team here on Pieces of Ali n' Me. We the help of these talented ladies who will create and promote the challenges on this site, we will be able to bring you more ideas to motivate you to create weekly. We have divided the team into 2 groups, "Team Monday" and "Team Friday".

And here we are:

{{ Team Monday }}

Pene (pronounced Penny):

  • Blog Addy: obitemehere.blogspot.com
  • How long have you been crafting? Since I was a kid. My mom was a seamstress specializing in one of a kind wedding gowns so I learned to sew when I was young. I've done many different crafting medias from painting, drawing (not very well), beading, jewelry to stain-glass windows. I discovered papercrafts when I had my appendix out and wanted to make thank you cards for the ladies at church that brought meals in for me and my kids.
  • What motivates you to create? No 1 certain thing motivates me it could be a color, a pattern, something that catches my eye, or even something someone says. Also, when I see a card or layout I like I will draw it in the notebook I always have with me. My creations rarely ends up looking like my drawing or the original inspiration.

Ali

  • Blog Addy: www.expressivelyme.blogspot.com { You R Here!! }
  • How long have you been crafting? I've been crafting for about 7 years...and other people's beautiful creations motivates me to create..
  • What motivates you to create? Other people's beautiful creations motivates me to create, and when I see color combos that I really like, I get inspired to create.

Jen

  • Blog Addy: www.expressivelyme.blogspot.com { You R Here!! }
  • How long have you been crafting? If you count from the time I was stamping images unto my penpal letters, then I say since I was 7 years old. I loved stamping images, and cutting them out then mailing them to my penpals. However, it wasn't until I was about 19 that I learned how to actually create a handmade card with my own rubber stamps and heat embossing powder. Oh boy, those were the days. 16+ years later, I am in the biggest heap of paper that I would never thought I would get myself into. I am praying that the projects that I am creating I can use to Glorify the Lord with.
  • What motivates you to create? Seeing projects made by others on the web. Friends that come over n' hang out and share their ideas. Coloring of talented people online. Love seeing new ideas out there. Oh and we can leave out books and magazines, of course!

{{ Team Friday }}

My name is Toni Perez and I have been scrapbooking and making card for about 15 years. I enjoy going in to my scrapbook room and creating it's very relaxing for me. I continue to be motivated by reading my crafty friends blogs and by my friends and family, there's nothing like recieving something that's been hand made. After reading so many crafty blogs, I decided to create my own, so in August 2007, I started my own blog: Whimsical Thoughts (http://whimsicalthoughts-toni.blogspot.com/), be sure to stop by and say hello :)

---------------

Heather:

Hi my name is Heather Flaherty. I've been married to my husband for 14 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters ages 13 and 11, we have our hands full.
We recently purchased a home in Florida after our 7 year tour in Japan, we are EXCITED to be stateside once again.

How it all began:
In 2006 I picked up a crafting Magazine to find something to pass the time after I left my full time job, in this magazine I saw a Cricut. I quickly ordered it and did not immediately fall in love with crafting.
While my DH was deployed which required a SAHM for my 2 DD's I delved deeper into the crafting world, discovered blogs, message boards and all of the fun things crafting has to offer. I haven't looked back since!

I am honored to be part of the Die Cut Challenge Team and I look forward to sharing my projects with all of you!
Happy Crafting!

---------------

Sheng:

I started stamping when I did my baby invites in 2009 and have come to LOVE it. I have a son, Max, who is 16 months old. I am a Billing Specialist by day and a stamper at night.

Woo Hoo!! Looking forward in working with these talented ladies!! Thanks for checking out who the newest DT's are for the month of May - July!! Blessings, Jen

Ali made her own flowers, simply by hand cutting layers of jaggity circles, and scrunching and then layering them on top of each other.

This card was a quickie card for my nephew, as I was creating it minutes before walking out of the house and heading to his birthday party. Buttons really come in handy when you need to get a huge space filled...

I cut this bag out using my eClips Machine {{yes! I am loving it!!}}, then I used my Scallop Oval Nestie to create a window for peeking into (covered with acetate). Then decorated with Prima Flowers, and buttons for the middle of them.

We hope these'll help yo get started on yours and join in on the fun!! God Bless!

Ali n' Jen

Helloooo Again!!! I am back, as I mentioned earlier! I was able to squeeze in this project for these 2 challenges I seen online. I created this card for someone special, whose birthday is next week. So proud of myself that I completed this one "on time". Anyways, to help me create this card, I looked to 2 different challenges. The Play Date Cafe Challenge #PDCC77, which your project must include this color combo:

and

Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge #186:
