Sweet RAK's From Friends

Good Morning Wednesday, Ya'll!!! Yesterday was a crazy busy day. I had a dentist appointment. There is this tooth of mines that has been such a pain in the behind!! 1st a root canal, then a crown. But of course, before the permanent crown is created a temporary one is placed in, while the permanent one is being created. Well, due to my LOVE for Fried Chicken, the kine like from Tanioka's (oh soooo tasty and crunchy!!!), my temporary tooth fell off!!! Gasp!!! So I had to go back to the dentist, he had to rebuild my own tooth and resize for another fitting of the crown because a piece of my own tooth cracked off with that temporary. Sheesh!!! That's some crunchy chicken, huh??? Tanioka's has a lot of ala cart items... oh sooooo yummy!! Love to go there for a quick stop to grab stuffs for a quick lunch or even to go to the beach and munch on something small. But go early, cause their lines are long (although it goes quickly), and they close @ 2 pm. Thinking about them chicken makes me all yummy for it! Anyways, while at my dentist appointment, Dr. Leong and I starting talking about my blog. Ok, first off, he n' I always talk stories whenever I go in, and we've become good friends (at least I think so!). And he went to check out this "blog" I was talking about, and was pretty amazed and interested in what I've got going on here. So I told him that I would blog about him, and do a shout out to him... so.... }}}}}}} Hello Dr. Leong!!!! {{waving BIG}} {{{{{{{{{ He's a good-fun dentist, I just wished he was closer to where I lived so that I don't have to drive so far to get there (hint, hint!!!). Oh wait!! "HI Lawre!!!!" ((She was assisting him with me yesterday... heee heeee)). Ok, if you ever NEED a fun dentist, who will take care of you, you might wanna check out Dr. Leong at Waiala'e Dental Care. Tell him Jen sent ya! ;o)

Well, after that, my day was pretty much left to doing house chores, so no creating for me. But I do have these Sweet RAK's that I received, first from Jenny of Little Jenny's Creations:

Doesn't that cupcake look yummy?? Very Cute!!!
Jenny also gave me 2 CakePops that she made... check these out how adorable n' tasty they were...
and the 2nd RAK received was from SCS Elizabeth "Zizzie 78". She sent me this sweet card for my birthday last month....

Well I'm off to start my day. I hope you have a blessed day!!

Much Hugs,
Jen

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Good Morning Tuesday!! I went to fill gas up for the very 1st time in my new car yesterday, and found that I am paying $15 less than what I usually paid for while driving the Big X. So yay, for some saved funds there. Gas prices for Sam's Club/WalMart is at $3.96 here on Oahu. It is going up again, and has been said that it'll will soon be hitting $5/gal by the time Memorial Day comes around. Oh Boy....

Some happy news is that my Stampin' Up! order arrived!! Yeeee.... here is a pic of the goodies I bought, not all are mines, my girlfriends n' I placed an order together. But look at all the Yummms.... (I haven't taken them out of the box yet, so if you are reading this and you've placed an order with me, I will contact you as soon as I have your order ready). ;o)

Another happy news is that I've ordered something with the funds I earned off of eBay... can you guess what it is?? Well, all I can say is that I'm excited and can't wait for it's arrival. I'm happy because I received the "shipment" confirmation for it, so any day soon it'll be here as well. Yay!!

I am having fun selling my oldies but goodies stamps n' stuffs on eBay. I've been posting at least 5-8 items per week. Don't wanna overwhelm myself with eBay stuffs, and get caught up in that. So check it out weekly, and I'll post here what goes up each week too. My seller's name is "LittleCs7", you can search me on eBay under that name to see what items I have up for bid weekly. Most bids are started off at $0.99!!

Today's project that I want to share with you is this simple Happy Birthday Butterfly card. I created it using Stampin' Up! products. The punch is Butterfly Extra-Large #119848, the stamp set is called "Punched Posies", which was a Hostess Set from a mini catalog. At this time this stamp set is no longer avail, but may be avail come the new Stampin' Up! catalog, but who knows what Stampin' Up! decides. There is another Butterfly stamp set that works great with this punch, which is "Butterfly Prints" #120738. Please keep in mind that the item #'s that I am providing here are all for UnMounted Stampin' Up! sets to be used on Acrylic blocks. If you need the #'s for the Wood Mounted ones, leave me a comment, and i will get it to you. The sentiment is one that I've had for awhile, and is already filed n' stored away in my stamp folders I am not sure what company it is from, so sorry can't tell ya what company. It might be Hero Arts. Well, if you know, you can leave a comment, and I will inform my readers by updating this post.

I've embellished with sticky back pink pearls. Aren't these the best that they already are sticky on the back?? Takes 1 step away from having to deal with mess glue. The dots were hand drawn to create a path of the butterflies. The color scheme is one of my favorites. I love Cameo Coral, and even though it's a retired color, I cannot give it up, just yet!!

Ok well, I am trying to keep my crafting to one day a week, and all other days will be spent cleaning house, tending to chores, and doing other things. When I am done with those important things, and if I have time during the day, I will be able to craft here n' there. But I have been struggling with this issue for a long time now, and slowly but surely, the Lord is guiding me in the direction that He wants me to go. So I am just being obedient, and listening quietly, and doing it humbly. This project was one that I've created a couple of weeks ago, so it's perfect that I'm able to share it with you today.

Well, I hope I've blessed your day with a little cheer...may you continue to find smiles throughout your day. And if you have time, please answer the Question of Today....

Today's Question:
What irritates you as a driver?

~I don't like it when people come all the way out of an intersection, practically blocking the way of on coming traffic, and sticking out like a sore thumb. That's just RUDE! Heh Heh... it happens all the time on my street.~

My Niece's Sweet 16th Birthday with Hello Kitty Favors

Hi There! How was your weekend? I hope you had a great time, in doing whatever it was. This weekend, we've celebrated my niece's Sweet 16th birthday at Tasty Chop Suey in Kalihi. A small Chinese restaurant that has been around for the longest time that I can remember since being a kid. I grew up in Kalihi, and have seen that place several times. But it wasn't til' I married my hubby, that his mom has taken us there on several occasions. This was one of them. Well, I can't believe my niece is already 16. Gee whiz, time sure flies, doesn't it?? She n' my CY4 are the oldest of 6 grandchildren to my MIL. They were both the 1st two kids born from their generation. Now they are teens. As I've said, time surely flies and quickly too!!! Sigh....

My SIL asked me if I could make some Hello Kitty favors for the party, and I went with 2 different designs, 10 of each of them.

I've written the cartridge names on the photo so you can see what cartridges I used to create these with. I create the bag cut in this photo with Design Studio, and cut it on my Cricut. The bag is similar to the cut that Stampin' Up! sells. I even added "bracket" edges to this cut, so that I was VERY similar to the SU! cut. I think I came pretty close to it. ;o) If you do use the .cut file, there is a piece of the bracket that you will need to manually remove yourself, before putting the bag together. You can click on the link at the bottom of this page to download the .cut file if you have the Design Studio program, and the cartridges that I've used to create this cut.

This here is a Hello Kitty basket, which I know you HK lovers out there will LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I had fun creating this HK basket on the Design Studio, and really like how it turned out. I myself, not being a huge HK fan, enjoyed creating and putting this one together.

A close up pic of the 1st HK Favor bag, as you can see, I've added the bracket edges. The edges come from the cart Alphalicious, so you NEED this cartridge together with the other cartridge, and the Design Studio, and most importantly the Cricut machine in order to cut this cut. The sentiment was cut from "Once Upon a Princess".
The Hello Kitty basket. These would be great for Easter treats as well. ;o)

Now, since on the other favor bag, I had "Sweet 16" pasted on, I thought I'd need to do the save for this HK basket, so I decide to use the word "Sweet" from "Create a Critter", cut out and then paste to the handle of the basket. "16" is from Alphalicious.

Here is a photo of the favors on one of the tables at the restaurant. They were kind enough to let us use 1 table for all the favors. Made such a cute display for all to see.
Oh wait... I can't skip on sharing with you her Hello Kitty cake!!! Yummy!! Very fresh and light tasting (not too sweet for me, so I was delighted). They got this cake from Delight Bakery a.k.a Saint Germaine's.

We had such a wonderful time with family. The food was delish, but the company was tastier!! Here is a pic of all of us after dinner... we were STUFFED!!! That's my CY4 on the right of the photo... look how BIG he's gotten, ladies!! Oh My!! So fast!!!

Question for today:

When you have an itch, do you apply some kinda cream or ointment? If so, what?

~ I use Lanecane, when I was younger, we used vick's. But I've found that Lanecane works quicker!! ~

Thank U for your time! God bless!!

My NEW Ride... and sharing some Hello Kitty Projects

Hi Gang!! I hope your week has been going well. It has been blustery here on the island of Oahu, I love that it is windy and cool, but it can get kinda scary when the wind is blowing against my house, because the creaking of the house kinda freaks me out thinking that it might come down. The winds have been pretty strong too, between 50-60 MPH! My hair has been up in a bun most of the week, to avoid having to do the "crazy hair dance". Well, before I go on, I have added "Quick Comments" to the bottom of each post, so that it is easier for you to select a comment, instead of leaving one. If you are in a rush, and have no time to post a comment, these will come in handy for you. If you are reading from your email, you just need to click on the title of the post and you will be able to click on the quick comment of your choice.

Well, first let me share with you a few things before getting into the crafty stuffs... I got a NEW RIDE!!! Weeee Hooooo!!! Yes, I am thrilled, can you tell? The Mighty Good Lord has blessed us with a new Chevrolet Traverse. 1st off, I need to mention that it has been a while now that we have been looking into purchasing a new vehicle. My hubby got a new truck about 8 months ago, and I took over his Ford Expedition. Because I wasn't planning on driving very far daily, I figured the big "X" would be ok to drive. Which it was. I thoroughly enjoyed driving it, but it was a huge gas guzzler!! Well, as time went by, I prayed about the type of car that I wanted.. I only had a FEW desires.... Must have Reverse Sensors, Diamond Pearl White, Spacious and More Mileage for the gas. Well, last weekend, a friend of hubby told him about the First Hawaiian International car show that was happening. We checked it out.... we saw the Pathfinder, which I liked, but it was too boxy for me. I loved that it had 3 rows of seating, and that it was comfy inside. However, I didn't like the boxy look... it was too sporty for me. But it was still on my list of cars. We then saw the Highlander... hmmm... smaller than the Pathfinder, 3 rows seating, but not too spacious. I knocked the Pathfinder off, and put the Highlander on the list of likes. I then saw the Murano... oh so spacious, beautiful, but the downfall was 2 row seating. After seeing the 2 vehicles of 3 row seating, I was kinda leaning towards something with 3 rows because I liked the idea of having that extra room for my parents, if ever needed. The Highlander and the Murano were now the 2 top cars that I was planning on getting. We were ready to leave the show and check out the dealers. While on our way out, hubby sees to the right of him, the Chevrolet Traverse. "Hey, we didn't check this one out.... let's go see". OH MY... we both got into the front seat... it was SPACIOUS - like the Murano, and we both fit comfortably (in the Highlander, he was kinda squished in the passenger seat. I looked back, and it had 3 rows of seat... like the Highlander!! It was like I was getting 2-in-1!!!

The Lord completely directed our path into seeing this beautiful car, and knew that it was what I had my heart set on. I knew that I wanted that vehicle. But now it was time to think about whether or not we'd be able to afford it. Off to lunch we went. We ate at Lobster King. They had a bunch of lobster dishes that looked so onolicious!!! We decided on having the Lobster with Black Beans - good choice, hubby!!! I was enjoying this dish so much, I forgot that we were in the "buying a car" mode. Oh so yummy... juicy lobster meat, and a tasty sauce. We also had the Oyster Sauce Chicken and Cake Noodle, Chinese Beef Steak and my ALL TIME FAVORITE: Honey Walnut Shrimp. I will NOT go to a Chinese Restaurant without having this dish! Hee hee... So, if you are ever in town, near J's Knicknacks, Cute Stuff or even Photo Craft... and have some yummy urges for yummy Chinese food, you should go and check out Lobster King.

We then headed down to Cutter. They had 5 Traverses' on the lot. 1 black one, which was sold, a red one, 2 charcoal ones, and 1 Diamond Pearl White.... Ahhhhhh!!!! Just as I wanted!!! Oh gosh.... Praise The Lord, He was truly sending me to the place where He knew I would find the car that I wanted. This one was the top of the line vehicle, came with 2 dvd players in the headrest, so that the kids can watch, not 1 but 2 movies, each of their own choice. Which means they didn't have to "share" a movie. It also came with wireless headphones (yay!!!), so while they are watching their movies, I can listen to my KLHT radio station and get into the WORD without having to tell them to "turn it down". It also came with reverse sensors, but on top of that, a reverse camera feature that shows up on my rear view mirror to help me back up and see where I'm going. Which is AWESOME, because I'm so paranoid about someone or something always being behind me where I might not be able to see them or it. Hahahaa.... The back of the car opens automatically with a touch of a button... no more lifting for me. The car seating has 2 "reserve" seating positions so that I can reserve my seating position (and the mirrors), and when and if hubby drives, he can press button #2 to go to his seating position. The car is linked to my phone's bluetooth, so that when I make a call, the radio and air con (which is super strong and cold) turns down, and the person I am talking to comes through the stereo. The seating is leather, and are captain seating (bucket). Oh I just love it, and I give all Glory and Praises to HIM for this blessing that HE has given us. Thank U Lord, Jesus!!!!

Ok, on to my craft projects. Today, I have 2 projects to share.... this first one is a Happy Birthday card, which I made on the Design Studio using "Hello Kitty Greetings". I've welded the sentiment to the bottom of the card, and it turned out so cute!!! I am sharing this file with you, so if you would like to download it, you can get it here. -----> Hello Kitty Birthday Card

The card above was created for my girlfriend's daughter, Sophia. So with her gift bag, I made a super large gift tag that I welded her name onto the Hello Kitty image. This was created using "Hello Kitty Font". Here is how it turned out, she loves the color purple....

Ok my friends... it's time to start your weekend!! I pray that you all have a marvelous well spent weekend with family n' friends. Thank you so much for spending a little of your time with me today, and reading about my new toy!!! But most of all, thank you for your friendship!!

Much Hugs n' Blessings...
Jen

Tutorial of Bunny Basket - Putting it Together

Hi Gang,

Last Friday, I shared the cut file of this cute Bunny Basket with those of you that own a Cricut and Design Studio (Doodlecharms and George cart as well). Thought I'd post a little tutorial on how to put the basket together.

When you open the cut, the basket is on 2 separate layers (sheets). I will work on getting them on 1 page soon. In the mean time, you need to cut, flip the cartstock over and then cut again. Regardless of how you cut them, just cut them out and you will have these 2 pieces:

Ok, now score on the score marks that I've provided:

Flip over the longer piece, and apply double stick tape like I have done so here:

Now you will place the longer piece into the shorter piece forming a cross look:

Now fold up all four sides, adhering the panels within and unto the insides of the cardstock that is crossing over, forming now your basket...

From here, you will cut the bunny head, paws and bum out, and just adhere to the front and back of the basket, and then cut the handle out and add the handle by using ribbon to hold them together. The handle was cut using Martha Stewart All Occasion, but if you don't have that cart, you can always cut out the handle and use a decorative punch of your own to create another look. I inked the edges to define the look of the bunny.

I used a piece of cotton for her tail...

And here it is again, completed!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy Crafting!!

Hugs, Jen
