Birthday Theme: Wk1 - Card 1

As mentioned in a post a couple of days ago, this week begins our weekly themed creations. Every 1st week of the month we will start off with the theme of "Birthday". Every 3 or 4 weeks thereafter will be other themes that we decide to go with. I will try and post the upcoming themes on the sidebar of this blog, so that you can plan ahead, if you wish to follow along with the themes. Our card creations will be posted on our blog gallery called Crafty Paper Projects Central. It is a 1-Stop Blogspot for ideas of paper crafted creations. Now, if you would like to share your creation, simply post a comment with a link to your project, and your project will be uploaded to the blog.

Along with the theme, a prize will be given to 1 person per week. To qualify for a chance at winning this prize, you must submit your card via mail to me (email me for my mailing address). Every 6 months, we will be either donating the cards received to those that are in the Military or a Correctional Facility, so that they may use to send home to their family members. Therefore, please do NOT stamp any personal info (like phone or mailing addys) on the back of your cards, for privacy reasons.

With that being said, here is the 1st card of our Birthday theme this week:

Cy's 6th Birthday Celebration @ School

My little boy turned 6 back in December. Man, time flies!! We baked some cupcakes for his classmates, and made goodie bags for them as well. Here are the yummy cupcakes we baked, Cy was such a big helper in the kitchen. He frosted those babies up and had a great time doing so.... we used the candied letter decor to each cupcake, to spell out "Happy Birthday". Cy was enjoying every moment of it...

After baking the cupcakes, he got to taste test of them to make sure they were perfect... he LOVED it!!! We also added chocolate sprinkles, and they were ready to be served at school the next day.

For the goodie bags to his classmates (and 1 for him of course), I made bookmarks, printed them on my computer, personalized them with each of his classmates names, and then laminated them. I also made some luggage tags to go along with the Thomas the Tank Engine theme. It's funny because when my older son was Cy's age, he never really cared for Thomas the TE. But Cy on the other hand, LOVES him!! Toooo Cute!!!

Here are the projects I created for the goodies bags....

a pic with his classmates during lunch... we got them each a McDonald's chicken mcnugget happy meal for lunch...

Then to Chuck E. Cheese after school...

I have more pics on my Facebook... so be sure to stop on by and check it out, if you want to. Have an awesome weekend in the Lord!!!

Big Hugs,
Jen

Big Ideas 2 Blog Banner - Created with My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!

Hey there... my girlfriend, Teri, owner of Big Ideas From a Little Girl had to create another blog, because believe it or not, she used up the entire, yes the ENTIRE space of her 1st blog. LOL!! That's cause she's just so creative in many aspects!!! She has now moved and has been blogging at "Big Ideas from a little girl, 2".... and she was sweet and trusting enough to allow me to reboot her blog, and decorate it. Thanks, T!!! You can find her new blog here, and this is the banner I created for her blog. I used all elements from Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio. So FUN!!! Click on the banner as well to check out Teri's blog! Hope you're having a great Thursday!!!

Aloha, Jen

Wood Mounted Stamps

Hey Gang! Thank you all on your feedback, remarks and suggestions on my stamps being re-organized. I had a few wooden ones, and because I ran out of cling foam, I've decided to try and keep these in the smaller Ziploc bags, label them by category and then store them all in a container, until I can get them on cling foam. This was about 3 drawers full of stamps on wood, and now they all fit in 1 container. In the mean time, if I would ever need to use them, I will simply use double stick tape, and adhere it to my acrylic block for a quick use. I have 1 more 3 drawer filled bin of stamps to do... after that, I am hoping that I will be back on the creating train. Have a blessed week, everyone!!!

Sorry, I know that this pains some of you that love your stamps on wood. I just have soooo much, and am a collector of stamps ((which means I have a hard time parting with them)), and in order for me to keep my HUGE collection, I must be able to store them SMALL.

Big Hugs... Jen

Stuffs About Today:
  • Serving Lunch then Errands to run... also craving some Oxtail soup for lunch, but will probably end up eating some leftovers from last night's dinner!!
  • 3rd week on Zumba... woo hooo!! I don't notice any difference in weight, but I am drinking a whole lot more water than I did 3 weeks ago! Praise God!!
