Simply Sweet Pastor Appreciation Cards

It is Pastor Appreciation Month... did you know that? I didn't, but my hubby told me that it is. Yes, I admit, he pays attention to things more than I do at times. he even remembers my girlfriend's birthdays (sometimes), but of course, with the help of FaceBook! LOL... cheater!

Well, this month we wanted to show our Pastors how much we appreciated them. I made them a real simple card. Something that wouldn't be too overbearing or too cute, something that just gets to the point! I also bought them a loaf of bread each from Great Harvest Bread Company. OH MY WORD... their bread is soooo delish!!

Ok, so we just got home from having Cy get his vaccination for the flu this school year. It really didn't go that bad, he screamed really loud, and kept trying to talk the nurse into NOT giving him the shot, and within 10 seconds, it was all over. But all in all, he took it like any 5 yr old would. LOL!!

Today is the 1st day that I am officially starting on the projects for my craft fair coming up on the 13th. Wooo Hooo!! I better get off of this computer, and get to work. I must use my time wisely, so that I can still create to post here, right? Tonight we have the Family Fun Night to attend. The kids are excited!! I am too! So, I'll see ya all back tomorrow.

Hugs,
Jen

Sharing Saturday

Hi Gang,

I have some pics to share with you. It's been quite hectic with Parent's Back To School Night being last night, and a FULL weekend of events @ our church this weekend. If you are interested in attending our fun-filled events this weekend, please come and check it out. It is an alternative to the Halloween Festivities going on, for the children to enjoy and be in a safe environment, and to learn about God at the same time. We're looking forward to it, and it has just been crazy!! But can't wait.

Anyways, I have some pics to share....

1st a birds nest in our tree:

A pic of my niece Kyrie, smiling:

Here is Cy, taking a pic next to one of his plants that he planted early October:

The Pea plant today (10/30) - you can see in the pic above that the blue bins had nothing in them, but now below, they are growing so prettily!:

If you would like to view more pics, you can find more on my facebook account {under "Jen Young"}. If you are NOT a FB friend of mines, please send me a message letting me know that you would like to be friends, instead of just requesting to be friends. And let me know that you read my blog. I don't like adding people that I don't know. Thanks in advance!!

Have a blessed day today, and have a safe evening tonight.

Stuffs about today:
  • Cy is getting the flu shot today! Yikes!

Happy Birthday, Pastor Joe

Oh Gosh! I am really trying to create for the Craft Fair coming up, but haven't had the chance to, because the priority stuffs (like birthdays and other celebrations) keep popping up, so I have to create for that. I try to dive into the "already made" cards for these occasions, but sometimes you just can't find the "right" card to get that person. KWIM?? Them I have no choice but to create a new card for him/her. Well, that's my OCD for ya when it comes to crafting.

My Pastor and Worship Team Leader celebrated his birthday on the 22nd of this month. This is the card I came up for him. I used a Dustin Pike's image, which I had colored a while ago, and then embossed, added some sticklez, and BAM - all Pau!

Embossing Folder: CB - Traffic Jam
Sticklez, Satin Ribbon, Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Colored with Copic Sketch Markers

Looks like the cool weather is right around the corner. It's been raining more and sunny less. I love it!! Have an awesome day in the Lord!!

Hugs,
Jen

Happy Birthday, Polly! (3rd Post of Today!)

I made a birthday card for Polly, a Christian Sister, whom I also sing with on our church's Worship Team. She is into spunky cards, and so I thought this image would totally fit the "spunk" she was looking for. When she realized that this card was handmade, she threw the "spunk" out the door, and was just loving that it was made carefully and lovingly for her.

Oh gosh! Yesterday was CRAZY at lunch time. The lunch caterer arrived with the lunches, and when he opened the back of his truck to get the food out, the pot with the main dish went sliding off the truck, and unto the cement! Chicken Adobo went SPLAT!! Right there on the cement. Oh My Gosh!!! Rice, and Veggies were all on the cement too. It look like a huge mess of pig slop. I immediately got on the phone, called the office, and notified them that lunch would be served late. Taking out the cold meals, I realize that the food that we have weren't for our school. It was supposed to be sent elsewhere. Oh Gosh! What a day it was. Not to mention my little one come to me later, crying because his ball went over the hill. That wasn't a problem for me. I would do anything for that kid. But when the food finally arrived, there was a lot of hungry children that wanted their food **NOW**. All in all, it worked out fine, and after lunch, I went to Zippy's to get me a Chocolate Shake to help cool me off. It was HOT and HUMID today. I still need to go to WalMart to get some stuffs. Hope you're having a great Wednesday!!

Birthday Goodie for Ms. Cruz

Last month, Cy's Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Cruz (he's in 1st grade now, but we see his K teacher on campus), celebrated her birthday. I wanted to make her a little something to just let her know that we were thinking of her on her birthday. I created a cute baggie, that I CASED from Joni of Crafty Hula Hands, of the RAK she gave me posted here. Here's how mines turned out:

Flowers: Prima & All Natural Accents
Paper: 3 Bugs, Ribbon: Organdy, Sticklez, Eyelets & Crop-A-Dile
Copic Sketch Markers to Color Image
Nesties to cut image and layer
Stamped Image: TGF from Pineapple Cove

Happy Mail Monday!

Can't believe Monday is here. Mondays are hard for me. Always so much to clean up around the house since we're so busy crazy on the weekends. But it is all for the Lord, so I love it!!! Today I have some Happy Mail to share. I'm trying to post my Happy Mail as soon as I receive them, or at least sooner than I usually do. So here's what I got:

Stepeni of My Idea Box won my "CAC Monthly Challenge" in August. In the package of winnings was this Anthony & Burt stamp which she used to create this card for me. Thank You, Stepeni for your sweet note and cute card creation! Your coloring is fantastic and I was so thrilled to receive it!!

When I got home from running errands this past week, I was tickled to find in our secret hiding spot, a goodie from Michelle of Mushi's Creative Inspirations. She stopped by my house and dropped off this lil' treat box for me. What a sweet surprise to receive, huh?? It's darling, it's such a neat drawer thing, and all the yummies that were within it? Gosh, she spoils me! Thanks Sweetie!

Oh, before I go, must post the latest design on my nails. The girl that takes care of me is Lena, and you can find her at Pearl Highlands Shopping Center, at Queen Nails. I saw a photo of nails at Ala Moana, took a picture of it on my cell phone, and showed her the design I wanted. She did pretty good at making it look like it. She even gave me matching toes... tee hee....

Well, I haven't completed all the tasks that I wanted to do today. I hope I have more time tomorrow. Lord willing, I will be able to get to do the things that I must!

Hugs,
Jen
