Maria's 30 Minute Scrap Pile Challenge

Aloha! Thank you for stopping by! Hope you are having a blessed Memorial Day today. First of all, I just want to Thank All Soldiers and Families of these Soldiers who have lost their lives serving our Country. We SALUTE YOU!!! Also to the Soldiers of the past and present, as well as their families, who live or lived their lives daily to protect our freedom. I pray that the Lord bless you, keep you in His arms, and provide a hedge of protection over each of you, and everyone of your family members. I pray that you continue to have the courage and strength, through Him, and that you are healthy and prosper with perseverance through your service. I Thank the Lord for You, and Your family, and I pray that your family is comforted through Him, while you are away. In all these things I pray, in Jesus' Precious Name... Amen!!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Lord, for these brave Men and Women.

Today I decided to try one of Maria's Challenges that she has going on at her blog. Maria is a Little C's Diva, and she has sooo much great ideas, I just love checking her stuff out. Plus, she's one of my dearest blogging sisters, so that helps. =0) Anyways, the challenge that I am trying out is Maria's Scrap Pile Challenge. Usually it is a challenge to use your scrap pile. I should try this challenge more than often, because I have such a scrap pile to tackle, that I really need to start lessening it. This week's challenge tho' has a little twist to it, you have to create your project within 30 mins. I was up for the challenge!!!

The object of the challenge to create with whatever items you have that are in your scrap pile, and also NOT to open any new boxes of embellishments. I had a image that was colored way back when, so that cut my time down, tremendously. The image is from Digital Delights. I was on their DT once, so I have a bunch of images that I acquired during that time. I colored it with Copic Sketch Markers. The DSP's were from my scrap pile, and that piece of DSP with the punched edge was already punched. The the pretty blue cardstock was also in my scrap pile, I think it's from SU!. My buttons are combined in a tin can, so I took them from there. The ribbon is a scrap ribbon, that I had a piece of stuffed in the "small kine ribbon" container. The Scallop Circle and Circle are Spellbinders, and I used Crystal Effects on the confetti, to add some shimmer.

That was a fun challenge, Maria, thank you for posting it! I hope I am able to join you more now.

Thank you again for stopping by! Have a blessed day in the Lord, and a wonderful week to come....

God Bless!!

Tutorial On Creating A Sizzix 3D Flower Look-A-Like

Hello There! Thanks for popping in... today I have a Gable box, decorated for a friend who celebrated her birthday. I have this cut as a SVG format, but for some reason, cannot locate it. I will work on another one, and have that Gable Box posted here shortly. I do have another treat for ya today tho'. Check it out... On this Gable Box, I used a Cricut cut for the sentiment "Happy Birthday", and then I used a flower from Accent Essential cart to create the Rose looking flower, that looks almost like the Sizzix 3D Flower (shown on left). Here's a little tutorial to show you how I did it:

First, I cut out two 4" flowers, which like I mentioned earlier, I got from Accent Essential cart. You could probably do this with any flower type cut of which it's petals are not deeply cut in. So try it!!

With these 2 flower cuts, I am going to use 2 different types of scissors, just to show you that you can use any type of scissors, and the results will still be the same - cute n' purdy!!

Ok, so here is the part where you cut into your flower. Start from a petal, and then cut in a swirl, going smaller, and smaller into the center of your flower. For the scallop scissors, I just cut in a circle, for the regular scissors, I cut in a circle, but I add some "waves" while cutting, so that I could somewhat replicate the petals.

At this step - it's time to assemble the flower and make it look into a 3D rose. So click here to view Assembly Instructions from Sizzix.

Here are the end results.... regular scissors on the left, scallop scissors on the right.

Now apply to my project....

Looks pretty close to the Sizzix one, and saved me some bucks on getting the cut. Plus, the flowers can be resized to whatever size I want. =0)

Have a beautiful day today, it's nice n' sunny here in Hawaii. Be blessed! Jesus Loves You!!

Hugs,

Jen

Little C's Challenge: A Sketch

Good Tuesday Morning Friends! Sorry I have been MIA, I have been taking care of Little C's orders (the 40% discount on Rubber/Acrylic stamps are still going on!), and it has been nothing but crazy madness here. I am here to tell ya, that I just cannot wait til' it's over. Then I will be FREE! LOL... The stamps are going quickly, and I have also been putting them in bundles. So check out the grab bag section for low priced items. So far, I've posted 8 Grab Bags, and they are great deals!!! Great for yourself, door prizes, blog giveaways, gifts, etc., etc., at a low low price!!

This morning, I went to the dentist to check out my aching tooth. I had some shave ice sometime a week or so ago, and the pain that I had after eating the shave ice, was excruciating!!!! Oh gosh, I mean, I was killing over, and asking the Lord for Help, Help, Help!! Sure enough, He heard my prayers, and soothe the pain, but it was lingering around. Therefore, I went to the dentist this morning, had it checked out, and lo n' behold, the tooth is ok, and nothing serious for him to do anything about it. So YAY!!! Praise the Lord!! Thank you for not having me go through something that isn't necessary. I just gotta watch out and be sensitive to my sensitivity of my tooth.

This week @ Little C's, we're having a Sketch Challenge. Simple, just create a project using the sketch above. This is what I came up with.

Funny, because all 3 Divas used The Greeting Farm images, and all images that we've chosen were all "sitting" types. Neat, huh?! I colored my image with Copics. BG embossing is Cuttlebug's Victoria folder. I wasn't sure about this color combo I used, but looks like it turned out pretty good.

Well, if you wanna play, be sure to check out the Little C's Challenge Blog, and get the details.

Have a blessed day in the Lord. I hope I can get some creativity going on my end here. Please keep me in your prayers.

God Bless!
Hugs,

Jen

Cute Cupcake Card: DS & GYPSY Cut Files

Good Aloha Friday Morning, Gang!! I created this card using one of the newest cartridges that I purchased - "Sweet Treats". It's got all sorts of fun stuffs to play with, and one of them, a yummy cupcake!! I had to make this cupcake, because it was soooo yummy not to!! This is a pretty large sized card, as you can see from the pic, that the card is at least 6" x 6" or so. You'd have to create your own envie, or do like what I did, give the card with a clear plastic envie.

The cute baker mouse image is a digital image from Soft Pencil. OMGosh!! It's sooo cute, and there are sooo many other cute images over there. You better go check it out, Elizabeth is a darling and sweet artist, and if you like cute, you will like what you see. I colored the images with Copic Sketch Markers, and whites were made with American Crafts White Marker. Anyways, I made 4 cards in different color cupcake holders. I have these files in DS and Gypsy format. You can download the files at the bottom of this post. Or you can click on "Fun Cuts" on my sidebar, under "Quick Links" and find the cut files there.

Here I outlined the cover of my card, lightly with a pencil, so that I can write on the card within, without having the writing show thru the front of the card. Simply erase pencil outline when done with your writing.

Ok, have a beautiful Aloha Friday, and a great weekend in the Lord!!

Hugs!!
Jen

Here are the links to the download. Required items: DS/GYPSY Programs, Sweet Treats cartridge.
