Last of the Kokeshi Dolls Stamp Set of Two Scoops Rice Designs

Aloha n' Good Morning Sisters!!

Hope everyone is doing well this bright n' beautiful Tuesday morning. I just heard the garbage truck pass my house, and we are now in this recycling program here in Pearl City. They are picking up the green bins with all the greens in them - you know, nature things.... leaves from the tree, grass, flowers and pretty much anything else that was green, and probably going brown by now. They started this program in my area I think around May. I am still getting used to the schedule that they gave to us. It's pretty easy to follow. So, every other week on Tuesdays, they will pick up recycled products - the green bin one week, the blue bin (paper & plastics) the next week, and every Fridays they will pick up all the other garbage that can't be recycled. My problem is, because they no longer pick up trash-trash on Tuesdays, my Friday trashes are over flowing. Now, isn't my trash bin supposed to be less of trash since the recycled bins should be filled? LOL... YES - those are filled too!!! What the heck? ALL BINS ARE FILLED here at the Young's household, and it is driving me up the walls. That means I have too much yard trash, too much recycle trash and way too much trash-trash around my house. Hmmmm.... maybe it's just because it is the beginning of this recycle thingy, ya?! I'm probably finding all these things to recyle, and tossing them all away - which is a good thing. But seriously, I don't know why the trash trash is still filled. I think it may be because the recycled bin is filled, and I have no where else to put it except the trash-trash? LOL.. Oh, last wek Friday, CY4 had to put the trash-trash bin across the street, and have them pick it up while coming up the street, and then grabbed it back, filled it with more trash, and then placed it on our side of the street for them to pick up on the way down. LOL.... It was kinda funny to watch. He's so cute....

Ok, nuff about trash - sorry Renae! Here is my card that I created using the last of the 5 Kokeshi Dolls in the Kokeshi Doll stamp set that Two Scoops Rice Designs has. I paper pieced her dress. Wanted to see how it would look like on one of her dolls, and it turned out awesome!! I also wasn't sure about working with orange.... but that worked out too! The zig-zag stitches is from an embossed border from cuttlebug, and the washi paper, I got from WalMart. Actually, it's not even REAL washi paper, just washi paper designed. The paper is actually origami paper... there are some real washi paper out there, but I'm not sure if the real one is sold at WalMart. (I no like anyone bop me on the head, if they can't find the real washi paper there....KWIM?!). I added stickles to add some shine - because you know I love making it all purdy... buttons are from my stash of buttons - I throw all my buttons into this bin, so that I can just grab n' go and I colored ms. girly here with my Copics.

Here's the entire stamp set - comes on a 4x6 sheet... they are all in 1 set...

Anyways, thanks for listening to my trash talk today... I hope you have a blessed day!!!

Hugs,
Jen

Farewell To My Friends.....

It saddens me to bring news to all of you that both of my friends - Twinks, locally from here, has passed on 6/28 and the other, Deb Golan, of Stampin On The Mountain, has passed on today, 6/29. Both brought smiles to blogs around blog land, I will truly miss there smiles around here.

Here is what Domenica (Deb's daughter) wrote to Allison about Deb:

"...my mom was resting comfortably when she passed away. She will not be having a funeral, as we will have a ceremony in her ashes when we scatter them in Hawaii next summer. She had a fresh Hawaiian lei on with beautiful plumeria flowers and she was surrounded with her 3 daughters. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and stamper. She will be missed."

May the both of you rest in peace.....

Christmas Challenge #23

Hey Sistahs.... this week on CSAYL, the challenge, hosted by Sankari was a tough one. We were asked to create a Christmas card using mostly white. The theme was actually called "I'm Dreaming of A White Christmas"...it was tough.... I knew I wanted to add a dash of color in there, somehow - and at first, I was going to make a shaker card. It turns out that I didn't have any double stick foam tape to make my box. I must've thrown my roll out.... so, that's on my next shopping list. =0) Anyways, I came up with this creation. Not that great, in my opinion, but at least I stuck to the challenge. Other Diva's pumped out beautiful creations. You can check them out on the CSAYL blog. We're on week #23! Can you believe it?! I can't.... I think I better start thinking of the Christmas card I will actually be MAKING for Christmas. LOL....

Well, I hope you can join us on this challenge. It's a tough one, but if you are comfy with working with all white - it'll be a doozy for you!!!

Card Details: Sizzix Emb Folder, Magnolia (I cut her wings off), cut snow hills freehand and added stickles for shine, card stock is a shimmer stock I've had for ages, and then embossed,a nd copics was used to color my image.... I have a tiny bit of stickles on the upper right of my card, because although Ms. Tilda is "dreaming" of a White Christmas, she is also looking at the Star of Jesus!! Of course the glare of my lamp actually excentuated the image.... and what a glow it is!!!

Big Hugs & Good Luck!

A Joy Fold Mushroom Card

Hello everyone! How is your Sunday going so far?! Mines is great.... off to church with the family pretty soon. I made this "shroom" card for Queen Kat Designs this week, and posted on the WIS blog, but forgot to post it to mines!! So here it is. I made a Joy Fold card, and used this image. I know - is this all of the QKD images I have? As a matter of fact - yes it is... LOL....for now at least.... sorry, I'm waiting for a bunch of them to come in, so can't wait.... hopefully sometime next week, I will have a new batch of QKD stamps to play with. I have another one on hand, but that one I can't use til' the release date. So, just gotta wait. Anyways, here's my card using a QKD image.

View from the top...

View from the bottom... the layer that the sentiment is seated on is actually holding the card closed.

View from the front.
"Much Love"? Why not... these Shrooms make a great wedding or anniversary card - especially if you're 'off' like me. =0)

Enjoy your Sunday!

Jen

A Greeting Farm Floral Creation

Hello All...

I ordered a whole bunch of Greeting Farm stamps, and finally got them in about a week ago. Well, I cut them up, put them away, and left them to collect dust (just like all my other collection of stamps). I had a whole bunch of other stamps that weren't put away yet, so while I was putting the GF stamps away, I figure I put all the others away. I have such a bad habit of collecting these cute adorable stamps, and I never seem to ink them up enough. There's never enough time in the day, is there!? I wish I could push out creations every 30 minutes, but my mind n' hands just don't work quickly together that way.

Anyways, I have been meaning to ink up my GF stamps, because they are soooo cute. I started out with this one. One of the images from the Hope n' Grace set. Which one's Hope n' which one's Grace? I dunno, no matter, they both look graceful n' both give me hope that my card looks cute. LOL.... I was laughing when I first heard the name of the stamp set, because I thought - "eh, wasn't there a show called "Hope n' Grace"?" But then I realized, (actually I think Jenny corrected me at a GG gathering) that it was called "Will n' Grace"... LOL... there goes my silly mind.... well, thought I'd make use of my stamp but then I had a huge brain fart!!! "PFFFFT"... I think it's because I've been cleaning out my craft areas lately - the area in my room (known as my craft room), and the one out here in the dining room.... I got a whole bunch of stuffs that I half used, or didn't use at all. Well, the ones that I didn't even touch for like a year all went into a box. Seriously - I was going to have huge giveaways on my blog and just give stuffs away every week. Then I thought - dang, that'll be a lot of mailing fees that I'd be dishing out. I gotta pay to get rid of my stuffs now?! LOL... ok, so I decided on giving all those stuffs to my SIL. She is one happy sistah right now. I have box #2 filling up, so she'll be even happier. =0>

So I'm taking a break from cleaning out my areas, and I figure I MUST use stamps... they are just too cute to sit n' collect dust, right?! Then I remembered about the GF stamps I just got last week. So here is where my creation comes in. To get me out of my brain fart mood, I was looking for challenges to work with. Well, I came across Summer's blog, Roses On Paper - and she's got this challenge that goes like this. You've got to combine her challenge - which is to use flowers - and another person or stamp company's challenge together. For her challenge, I have got to use any stamp company that she sells, which she just so happens to be selling TGF stamps!!! Yay!!! SO, I looked around for another challenge, and found a Clean n' Simple Challenge on SCS. This week's challenge "CAS20" is to "paper piece".. F-U-N... If I win Summer's challenge - I'll win some gorgeous flowers, AND I get a chance to be a Guest Designer on her up n' coming new line of stamps, designed by Elisabeth Bell, called "Bells n' Whistles". So.... I just gotta try n' see if she will have me as a guest. Wish me luck!!! This card is going out to one of my girlfriends.... hope you like it, sister!!

My card is created with TGF's Hope n' Grace, Copics coloring, Prisma and All Natural Accents Flowers, DSP from Joy, Bazzill Basic cardstock, Dew Drops, Stickles on Flowers and Jewels from Hero Arts. I paper pieced her head band, bow around her neck, and under skirt.

Have a blessed Saturday, and thanks for stopping by.

Aloha,
Jen

Fred, She Said... Embossing n' Flower Demo (Print n' Cut Flowers)

Good Morning and Happy Aloha Friday!!!

Hope all is well with everyone. I'm show casing flowers from Fred, She Said in this posting. FSS has these gorgeous dahlia flowers, they are available in color OR in outlined sets, so that you can color them yourself. I actually printed the colored ones and made a few of them for you here. But first, I wanted to show you how I embossed my background card stock to prepare for these cards that I created. Here goes:

Ok, so here I am embossing my cardstock. I've already embossed one side of it, now I'm going to do the other side, showing you that I'm leaving a section that I didn't emboss....

After running it through the machine, I flip it over, and use my Scor Pal to make 2 embossed lines both at the edges of each section that was embossed.

This is how it looks when done - now I have a section where my sentiment will go, and I can decorate....

Now, I'm going to use the flowers from Fred, She Said. These flowers are the Colored Dahlias. There are 18 FULL colored sheets with flowers n' leaves in this set, for only $5!!!! You can re-print them anytime you want to use them. Beautifully made & colored by Tracey, all done digitally - and sooo easy to use.... here is one of the ways that I've used these flowers for one of my cards. I've also posted 3 more to show you some ways I came up in using them.... but first a little demo on how I created the 1st flower for the 1st card:

So I cut out the flower pieces and leaves I want to use.... I also used my scor-pal to add lines to the petals of each flower....

Then I just stack them one on top the other, from biggest to smallest, lining up the petals. See how pretty it turns out?!?!? I LOVE IT!!!!!

Add to my card.... and stamp a sentiment.....
Now, here are 3 more that I created, using different flower colors, and different flower creation combos....

this one is done with a darker blue...
This one is done with Light n' Dark Pink ones....
This one is done with different colors, different sizes....
Finally the one that I first demonstrated, and completed with a Dew Drop in the middle.
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

This image is called Cupcake Kiley. So cute, she's wearing a cupcake!!! Flowers are Prima and Martha Stewart, and the middles are dew drops.

Thanks for peeking in!!

Christmas Challenge #22

Hey There... This is my 2nd post for today, be sure to check out the previous post I posted to see the New Release announcement of Digital Delight's images.

Ok, sorry, I'm late in this posting... so sorry!!! I didn't want to miss a week of Christmas creation - but I almost did. I talked myself out of not doing it.

This week was a "free" week for us on the Christmas card challenge blog - create whatever we want to... no challenge, actually the challenge is to create with whatever you have. I went with pink n' yellow this time. Why? I dunno - just though it might work, and looks like it did. Who says elf can't wear pink n' yellow, huh?!

The stamps is from Stampendous. Emboss folder is Cuttlebug, and it's actually turned upside down..... DS paper is TAC. The dew drops are actually plastic pearls (1/2) with sticky backs - which I got from J's. I used stickles on the embossed images to add some glitz to my card. The inside of the card reads "May You n' Yours Have A Very Merry Christmas". Sounds about right, huh?! I colored this with my Copics.

Ok, I am on a mission to clean my craft room (the one in the bed room), and the one out here in the living room is starting to look not so good either. It sucks when I have to make everything neat again. But I have to do it for the sake of my eyeballs.

So I best be going... I also want to tidy up my garage. Oh boy.... so much to do, so little time!!!

Hope you're having an awesome week - sorry I haven't been able to stop by your blogs.... hopefully I'll have some time later tonight.

Aloha,
Jen
