Happy News Again - Accepted On Another DT!!!

Woooo Hooooo!!! Sisters, I have been invited to be on ANOTHER Design Team. This is a Mom m' Daughter company, that sells digital images. They are a fairly new company, and I'm so happy they've asked me to come aboard, because I am looking forward in helping them build their company. This should be fun!! The name of their company is called KLM Designs, and all of their current stamps/digital images can be found here.

So listen, here is one of the images I thought was just up my alley. This super cute image is called Carl the Clown. KLM Designs is coming out with new images in June, so stay tuned for that!!! Digital images are easy to use, and you can download them, print and use them right away, rather than waiting for them to arrive in the mail. I also like digital images because they are sizeable, and you can print out the size to whatever size you want to accommodate your card or project. You don't need an expensive program in order for you to use these images. You could use it right off of Microsoft Word, which most people already have on their systems. Let me know if you would like for me to do a tutorial on this - I would be happy to share this with you. Anyways, try and check it out, you will NOT be disappointed. I have come across alot of companies going into the "digital images" industry. I think that's cool, because I can "take" all of my images with me on a jump drive, print it at the location I am at, and color away. So all I need in toll is my case of Copics, and my jump drive. Find me a computer, printer and print away. =) One of the many reasons why I love to digi scrap too!!!

For this image, I printed it on my ink jet printer - and I let dry for about 30 minutes. I used a Grace Pacific (Walmart) white cardstock, and colored the image with my copics. I have pics of how I colored this clown image posted below - so check that out if you'd like to see how I did it. =0)

For the layout of my card, I used Maria's sketch - Thanks Maria!!! Maria has some of the easiest n' fun sketches that I enjoy using. I don't have to think so much to actually make them work. =0) Thanks for doing the thinking for me, Maria!! To get to Maria's blog, simply click on the sketch. I used All Natural Accents flowers, and I am not sure where the sentiment is from. I used my White Creative Marker (from American Crafts) to make my free hand stitches. The buttons are from my button stash.

Here are the steps of how I colored my image:

Start with G07, and outline the areas where I want it to be shaded darker.
Color hat with RV29, blend with R000:
Blend hair with Y02, blend suit with G21

Hair is outlined with Y35, Hat & Shoes with RV29:
Complete by blending shoes with R000:

Thanks for stopping in and reading about my good news!!! Don't forget to check out KLM Designs!!!

Jen

Have You Heard of Dustin Pike?!

Have you heard of Dustin Pike?! I recently stumbled across his blog, and instantly fell in love with his cute adorable images. Oh Sistahs... you are going to LOVE them too!! First off, they are SUPER CUTE!!!! 2nd, they are DIGITAL IMAGES!!!!! 3rd, they are CHEAP!!!! 4th, Dustin is so GENEROUS in giving one 1 FREE image EVERY Wednesday.... you HAVE GOT TO go and check out his blog - and guess what?! There is no time limit on those free images... you can go back to the very 1st posting that Dustin posted, and get all of the FREE images - but you better hurry, he just might change his mind, and put a time limit after all. =0) Ok, so check out Dustin Pike's blog - and fall in love with his images too!!! I know we all love CUTE, and I know you will NOT be disappointed. I bought a whole bunch of stuffs from him already, and can't wait to create with them all!!!

So here is my 1st creation using Dustin's Fly A Kite Dragon. Oh, and this image is a FREEBIE too!!! I made it for my cousin's son's 1st birthday, which I missed going to the party this weekend - thanks to my cough. Yep, it's still lingering. But thank you all for your sweet comments and prayers!!! They are so much appreciated, and what a blessing it is, knowing that you are all praying for me!! Thank you!!! Ok, so this dragon is super cute, huh!??! Dustin has a bunch of other cute dragons, so if you like cute dragons, check out the ones that Dustin drew up!!

For the sentiment, I made it on my Photo Shop Element and printed on my printer. I didn't have a sentiment for this image, so I made one up myself.

I colored the image with my copics. I didn't do a color slide for this one, because I was in a rush to do this card. I used the new nesties that I recently purchased, and kept the front of the card blank. The DSP is DCWV, a glitter stack.

Ok sistahs, gotta go, Cy wants me to play on the Wii with him. Have a beautiful day!!

Hugs,
Jen

Some Royal News... I'm in the Castle!!!!

HelllOooOOoooo... Sistahs, Guess What?!?!?! I'm in the CaStlE!!! I have been CrowNed!!! I'm talking about the Queen Kat's Design Castle, that is!!! I have officially been invited to be on QKD's design team ... How totally STOKED am I?! Queen Kat's Designs has got some whimsical images that I have been wanting to get my hands on. Plus Vicki (the Queen Kat herself), is in love with all things Hawaii!! I'm set to help her spread the "Kat's-Up" on all that is going on in the castle. LOL...

Anyways, in order to make the QKD team, I was to submit a project created with a QKD image. I was given this image to create with. It is the Summer/Fall team that I am going to be on, which begins in June... so stay tuned for more QKD creations.

I was estatic when Vicki sent me this image. I just created with an Anya mermaid in yesterday's post, so it must've been written in the stars for me to create with another beautiful mermaid. I totally LOVE this mermaid, as she is so magical!! I must be in a coloring mood, because the colors that were dancing in my head wanted to get inked on paper!!

Here's the deets on this card. The name of this image is called "Tilly Mermaid Stamp". It comes in 2 different ways, one with a background, and the other without. Check them both out, and pick the one that suits you best!! =0) QKD has several other stamps that portrays the fantasy world. You can find them all here. I used Bazzill Basics cardstock, the DP is TAC and I used the other NEW nesties that I purchased. I colored Tilly with my copics, and added stickles to give her some glitz. I love how her eyelashes go way, way, way OUT!! I also love her EYES.. and I couldn't wait to color them green!!! I used Prima and All Natural Accents flowers, and put buttons and dew drops for the middles of these flowers.

Did I tell you that my TV broke down, and we purchased a new bed!? Yes Sirree!!! We got a new TV this weekend, from Best Buy, and they delivered it today. I'm soooo in love... it's so pretty! Also purchased a new Cal King bed, as the other one was practically SAGGING in all the wrong places. Well, that was delivered yesterday. The weather is pretty sucky... humid and yucky, because vog is in the air. But it is raining now, so hopefully it clears the air of vog. LOL...

Last night, we had a wonderful dinner with our friends at Sam Choy's. It was Tuesday night, Kid's night. They had a clown there.... and Cy was NOT happy to see the clown. He doesn't like clowns - keep them AWAY!!!

Well, all in all, everyone had a great time, I met some new friend's of my DH, and their spouses, and hopefully we all can keep in touch and get to know each other a little more.

Anyways, hope you're having a splendid day!!!

Big Hugs...
Jen

My 1st Anya & New Nesties.....

Aloha Sistahs...

I know it's Tuesday.... unfortunately, I don't have a TSRD to share with ya. I was so excited with using my new Nestie's, I just had to work on this right away.... ya, ya, ya... I actually purchased this Nestie set about a week or two ago, from J's Knicknacks. It's been sitting in the same bag it came with, and I stumbled across it last night, and thought - what? I never use this yet?! So, I thought I should use it for today's project. The Anya is new too. Isn't she adorable?! Sorry, I don't have a color slide for you on this image - I was too excited, like I said, to use these new goodies I received. The coloring techinque I used on this image are that of both Jenn Muraoka and Jodie Cole.

An update on me being sick... LOL... it's still ingering around (the cough, that is). I took Christine's advice though, went to Walmart this morning, and picked up Kelsym... never heard of this medicine before, BTW... so I get the grape flavor, and take it - it's a 12 hour thing, so I have to take it again like 10 pm tonight, but so far, I haven't had severe coughs like I have been coughing the last couple of days. So thanks, Christine!!! I really appreciate it.

Tonight, our friends Dan and Bern, who are from Seattle, flies in f Kauai. Infact, they may already be here. We're meeting up tonight to have dinner, and it's also going to be a small reunion for my DH and his high school classmates. I'm prepared to take lots of pictures. Hopefully I won't be hacking thru the night... maybe I'll take Delsym earlier than I should?! heh heh...

Anyways, on to my card... colored the image with my Copic markers. I like that the mermaid has blue hair. LOL... I think I originally seen Jodie color this image like that... ya, I'm a copy cat. LOL... The pearls are from Hero Arts. The flowers are Prima and All Natural Accents flowers. The DP is.. hmmm, I don't know where it's from (LOL!!), but it's pretty, huh?!?! Cardstock is Bazzill Basic, and the sentiment is from TAC.

Ok, I better go... wanna try and create a TSRD for this week. Thanks for stopping by...

Aloha,
Jen

Christmas Weekly Challenge #18

Aloha Sistahs....

Things are still icky in my body. I'm just grateful that my kids and hubby don't have it. It really stinks that I have this cold for so long. The last time I had this cold was when I was vacationing with the family in Seattle, back in March, and that ain't that long ago! ugh! I have been drinking lots n' lots of liquids, and have been trying to get as much sleep as I possibly can. Sometimes, my body just don't wanna lie down anymore. The coughing goes on most of the night. But I'm able to sneak in 2 hours here n' there after my coughing spasms calm down.

But enough about me being sick - aren't you sick of me always talking about being sick? LOL... how are you?!! I haven't visited your blogs lately - and I am soooo sorry for that. I've updated my reader, so that I can have an easier time seeing what everyone has been up to, and hopefully it'll allow me an easier way to comment as well. I will be visiting soon... so be ready!! LOL.....

I bet everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend tho' - BBQ'ing and celebrating our Veteran's. What do you do during this long weekend? I know a few of my friends that go camping.... and some just hang out at the beach all weekend - BBQing.... us, we don't usually do anything. LOL... but this weekend, actually - we have to go shopping for 2 important things. A television and a matress. The lamp in our tv broke last night, I think it has to do with the fact that I've been watching it all night long lately, since sleeping out on the sofa while I've been sick. While home alone last night, (DH n' kids went to a birthday party), the tv just konked out. We've had that tv for 8 years now... these newly made tv's just don't last very long!!! This is the 3rd time the tv's lamp konked out on us. Those times, my tv was still covered under warranty. I have this TV in CY4's room, which DH n' I had since we were dating - it's a tube tv. There are buttons missing, but it still works - HAH! CY4 isn't allowed to watch TV in his room - we initially put it in there for him to play games, but we ended up not allowing him to play games in there either. LOL... Maybe it's time to donate that TV, huh?! As for the matress... the one we have is already a little beaten up.... and losing it's cushion, LOL!! So it's time for a new one!!

Ok, anyways - it's week #18 for our Christmas card challenge. Maria had a sketch for us this week. Be sure to check out the Christmas blog to view the other Diva's creations. As always, nice sketch, Maria... it's always great to have a sketch to follow - helps me out with creating. =0) My image is from Whipper Snapper, DP papers are DCWV. I colored the image with my Copics Sketch. The sentiment is computer generated. Scallop is SU! scallop punch, foam tape to lift the sentiment layer... oh, and I can't forget the dew drops that I also used. =0)

I've had several readers ask me to show how I color my images... so I thought I'd do a little slide on how my images are colored. To view the slide, simply click on the slide show below... I will try and do this for every image that I color.

Ok, enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day Weekend... have fun, be safe!!

Hope you like the slide... let me know if it helps.... and if you want to see more.

Enjoy & Blessings!!!

~Jen~

May RAK Creations

Hey All...

Here are some of the Aloha May RAK Creations submitted to me to share with all of you. Check out my May Aloha RAK Creation, which I posted here ->>> on my Cricut Cuts Blog. The sign up for Aloha RAK June is open, so if you're interested in playing read the sticky at the top of my blog to find out how to play along.

Ok, time to share...

The challenge for this month's Aloha RAK was a color challenge - here are the colors to use, I think the ladies did a pretty good job on theirs - you don't need to use the exact colors, so colors that are close is good enough for me:

Here is what Denise Nibling created for her receiver - she used a Himawari Baby image!!!:

Sharon Banta's creation to her receiver- look at all those pretties:

Created By Dianne Frost - what kinda stamp is that, Dianne?! It's sooo cute!!! Could it be a Whipper Snapper?! :

A Twilight creation by Linda Kuniyoshi... yea, she's loves him... was his name, Eddie?

And created by Jovita:

Great job, ladies!!! If there are more, I will post them when I receive them.
